As part of its organization-wide goal of addressing sustainability issues from “Farm to Fork,” Cabot Creamery has partnered with Efficiency Vermont since 2000 to reduce energy use and costs. Projects include:
“Cabot Creamery Cooperative serves as a model of sustainability, not just for the dairy industry, but for farming as a whole,” said Matt Dooley at Efficiency Vermont. “As a longtime advocate for environmental stewardship, Cabot Creamery also walks the walk by executing production and business practices that result in real reductions of its environmental impact. As a result, the cooperative has been able to save money through reduced energy use. This is critical for every company in this economic climate. Energy efficiency helps many companies streamline their operations, and Cabot Creamery is an outstanding example of a company that has done this.”
“NEEP is proud to recognize Cabot Creamery and Efficiency Vermont for their collaborative success and commitment to energy efficiency,” said Sue Coakley, Executive Director of NEEP. “Cabot Creamery provides an excellent example of how energy efficient measures can improve a company’s bottom line, contribute to economic growth and reduce environmental impact.”
