Long Island Company Recognized for its Commitment to Achieving Significant Energy Savings
LEXINGTON, MA – Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) has announced that Positive Promotions will be recognized as a ‘Business Leader for Energy Efficiency’ at the Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit in Warwick, RI on June 8, 2011. Sponsored by Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), Positive Promotions is being honored for its continued efforts to advance energy efficiency in its operations, which have resulted in annual energy savings of nearly 1.5 million kWh and cost savings of over $240,000.
Seeking ways to become environmentally friendly and reduce overall operating costs, the company consulted with LIPA. What initially began as a small lighting project evolved into a comprehensive commitment to replace all lighting (more than 2,000 fixtures) and 30 rooftop heating/ventilating/air conditioning (HVAC) units, as well as install an energy management system that controls building operations.
“Last year, LIPA rebated $130,000 to Positive Promotions’ for the highest grossing energy saving effort for a single project affiliated with our Commercial Efficiency Program,” said Chief Operating Officer Michael D. Hervey at Long Island Power Authority. “The improved lighting levels also led to increased productivity and even enhanced color rendering for Positive Promotions’ product line – an essential element of its printing business. Thus, Positive Promotions exemplifies how going green is both environmentally responsible and a key customer benefit.”
“NEEP is proud to recognize Positive Promotions and LIPA for their collaborative success and commitment to energy efficiency,” said Sue Coakley, Executive Director of NEEP. “Positive Promotions provides an excellent example of how energy efficient measures can improve a company’s bottom line, contribute to economic growth and reduce environmental impact.”
Positive Promotions will be recognized, along with 11 other Northeast Energy Efficiency Business Leaders at the 2011 Northeast Energy Efficiency Summit. Members of the media are invited to attend at no charge. For more information about the Summit and Business Leaders Recognition program, please visit http://neep.org/neep-summit
