Massachusetts Pursues Furnace Efficiency
On Monday, state regulators petitioned the Department of Energy to allow Massachusetts to enforce stricter efficiency standards for gas furnaces than are in place at the federal level.
Isaac Elnecave of the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships said that the goal of the petition was to try to weed out the inefficient furnaces from the market. Hundreds of furnace models are already made to the Massachusetts standards, he noted, so it would create little burden for manufacturers. Read full post from Green Inc.
