Orion Energy Systems is a leading power technology enterprise that designs, manufactures and deploys energy management systems for commercial and industrial markets. At the core of Orion's product line is its high-performance, energy-efficient lighting platforms, intelligent wireless control systems and direct renewable solar technology. Orion's technology delivers permanent distributed load reductions at the point of use, having displaced more than 459 megawatts from the grid since 2001.
Orion has helped customers save an estimated $642 million in energy costs and 8.3 billion kilowatt-hours. Based on EPA estimates, Orion's technology has prevented 5.5 million tons of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere. It is also the air-scrubbing equivalent of a 1.5 million-acre forest or removing 1.3 million cars from the road.

The Institute for Electric Efficiency (IEE) focuses on accelerating the electric power industry's energy-efficiency and demand response efforts. Recognizing energy efficiency's role in reducing carbon emissions and moderating the expected growth in electricity demand, IEE serves electric utilities and policymakers across the country. The Institute is a resource for information and best practices in energy efficiency, a forum for dialogue on advancing energy efficiency among energy-efficiency leaders nationwide, and an initiator of thought leadership around key energy-efficiency issues.
Electric utilities will be playing a key role as energy efficiency grows to new levels over the next decade. IEE supports the efforts of electric utilities by:
• Sharing information, ideas and experiences in energy efficiency and demand response;
• Maintaining a resource base of effective business/regulatory models and practices for energy efficiency and demand response; and
• Participating in national and regional forums to discuss the status of energy efficiency nationwide.
