NEEP is pleased to announce the third-annual Regional Roundup of Energy Efficiency Policy in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic States. The Roundup is intended to give policymakers, program administrators, advocates, and other stakeholders a comparative view of building energy efficiency progress across the region in 2013.
Carbon Emissions Standards and Energy Efficiency Report
The Regional Energy Efficiency Organizations teamed up and composed this Carbon Emission Standards and Energy Efficiency report, headed and authored by Howard Geller of SWEEP, in support of the forthcoming EPA Clean Air Regulations (111-d) and the role that energy efficiency plays. [More]
From Potential to Action: How New England Can Save Energy, Cut Costs, and Create a Brighter Future with Energy Efficiency
This report demonstrates the real potential energy efficiency has to decrease the region's projected demand for electricity. It describes a clear set of steps that states can take to move from policy ideas to real savings for families and businesses. [More]
NEEP's Policy Outreach & Analysis team works to support states in their efforts to adopt and implement policies that advance the efficient use of energy in buildings in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Our approach involves engagement with policymakers about the value of energy efficiency, facilitating dialogue among stakeholders in government, industry, consumer advocates and environmental groups, and providing high-quality, impartial research and analysis of legislative, regulatory, and administrative policy decisions and how they can contribute to the region's energy, economic, and environmental goals.
For those interested in learning more, we recommend reading our 2014 Policy Brief, which offers a succinct description of the opportunities for states to harness the power of energy efficiency in a way that can advance their energy, environmental, and economic goals.
We are actively engaged in all the policy proceedings in states throughout our region. To read about our latest testimony and comments, go see the state energy efficiency policy pages below.

It is a work in progress so updates are welcome!
ISO-New England recently undertook a study of how energy efficiency investments in the New England states impacted energy demand throughout the region in its Energy Efficiency Forecast. This included an "On Background" presentation that shows that energy efficiency will help keep electricity consumption flat for the next decade and significantly reduce peak demand. Please see the full presentation below for a closer look:
