A highly efficient home depends on every piece of equipment, including HVAC and domestic hot water systems, to be functioning in synch, at their optimum. The implementation of best-practice installation techniques and the availability of relevant technologies require the full understanding and participation of many organizations.
NEEP's High Efficiency Home Performance Initiative develops and coordinates the promotion of best practice, which treats the whole house as one system, establishing highly efficient gas, electric, and fuel oil HVAC and hot water systems, as well asproper installations.
The aim of the HEHP Initiative is to maximize energy savings in existing homes through coordination of the efforts of the many regional market actors promoting widespread adoption of whole house energy efficiency programs.
NEEP engages with the region's rate-payer funded energy efficiency program administrators through several specific projects that relate to the High Efficiency Home Performance Initiative. These include the Regional Initiative Working Group, Coordinated Upstream Activities, Engagement of National Activities, and Strategy Development and Deployment.
