Getting the Price Signals Right: Aligning Rate Design with Heat Pump Usage
As heat pump adoption grows, getting electricity rates right is becoming increasingly important for both customers and the grid.
Join NEEP for a preview of a new report exploring how states and utilities are designing rates for heat pump customers. Through analysis of heating costs and real-world case studies, the report examines how rate design can better align customer costs with grid costs while supporting building electrification goals.
The webinar will spotlight Massachusetts' experience launching statewide seasonal heat pump rates, including lessons learned from their first season of implementation and ongoing work to develop default time-of-use rates. We will also discuss how these approaches can be adapted in other states and across both single-family and multifamily housing.
