Fatima joined NEEP in March 2024 as a Senior Associate for Marketing and Communications. As a member of NEEP's strategic marketing & communications team, she bridges the gap between the organization's energy efficiency expertise and its stakeholders. Her responsibilities include spearheading marketing and communications outreach, supporting NEEP's events and partner engagement, and ensuring the upkeep of NEEP's website and social media platforms. Collaborating closely with the strategic marketing & communications team and NEEP’s program staff, Fatima executes impactful marketing initiatives, facilitates events, and contributes to brand management efforts.
Before her time at NEEP, Fatima worked in the climate sector, specializing in graphic design and communications. She grew up in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts and is deeply committed to safeguarding vulnerable communities from environmental hazards. Proudly identifying as a BIPOC woman within the STEM community, Fatima is dedicated to amplifying diverse representation in professional environments. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, earning a bachelor's degree in communication and environmental science.
Q: If you could invite any three people to dinner, who would they be?
A: I'd invite three female ancestors I never met when they were alive. Hearing their life stories and their choices firsthand would be fascinating.
Q: Name one thing you cannot live without.
A: This is technically two, but it can be considered one meal. Pupusas and masala chai! It’s the perfect combo of spicy and sweet for a foodie like me.
Q: What's something about you that would surprise people?
A: I listen to music in at least five languages...daily.
