Arah Schuur to Depart from Executive Director Role

Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships recently announced that Arah Schuur will be departing from her role as Executive Director in the summer of 2023.

Arah took over for founding director Sue Coakley in 2021. During her tenure, Arah has helped NEEP navigate through significant change and guided the organization to its current success. Arah leaves NEEP in a very strong position for continued growth, and we thank her for her contribution and leadership in her time with NEEP.

“When I first worked with NEEP 11 years ago, I never could have imagined that I would have the chance to lead this organization. I am proud of what we have accomplished over the past few years,” Arah said. “Now with the organization in a strong place, with a great team, it is the right time for me to pass the leadership torch.”

The search for NEEP’s next executive director is underway. The next leader will have a unique opportunity to shape NEEP’s future in an unprecedented time of activity and attention to the role that energy efficiency, building decarbonization and electrification play in an equitable clean energy future. The Board of Directors will retain a search firm to conduct a nationwide search.

“NEEP’s Board of Directors is grateful for Arah’s dedication and skill in managing NEEP through the difficult years of the pandemic,” said NEEP Board President Marion Gold. “Under her leadership, NEEP redoubled its commitment to advanced energy efficiency and decarbonization of the building sector. She leaves NEEP in a strong position both financially and organizationally.”

Arah will stay in the role on an interim basis while the Board of Director conducts its search for the next Executive Director.
