Over the years, Rogers has implemented many energy-efficient improvements, including the following recent efforts:

• Added a single high efficiency heater at the loading dock to address negative pressure created by manufacturing processes that reduced heating load due to outside air. Along with an energy management system (EMS) for the office areas and duct insulation, this project resulted in approximately 7,800 CCF in natural gas savings annually. This project also included retrofits to outdated lighting systems and vending machine controls. 
• Rogers also recently implemented a lighting project and air leak repair at its headquarters, as well as a large project in its Woodstock facility, focused on lighting, heating/cooling and air leak repair.  All projects to date have resulted in approximately 1.4 million kWh and $154,000 saved annually.

Eversource is proud to have worked alongside Rogers Corporation every step of the way, providing key planning advice, technical assistance and financial incentives. Eversource and Rogers Corporation have been partners since the 2000s, and Rogers’ Connecticut facilities have participated in energy efficiency programs offered through Eversource as part of Energize Connecticut.

Rogers Corporation continues to work with Eversource to develop cost effective energy-saving projects and participate in Energize Connecticut energy efficiency programs. The company’s commitment to efficiency extends far beyond Connecticut. In fact, Rogers Corporation has expanded its efficiency measures throughout its global locations. Rogers’ Leadership Team has dedicated resources to support efficiency projects internationally, and they work with Energy Savings Team members throughout North America, Asia, and Europe to make sure the projects go smoothly. Global efforts have included occupancy lighting sensors in all office areas, replacing older lighting systems with more efficient LED technology, and efficiency upgrades for HVAC controls.

These efforts are hardly surprising for a company like Rogers Corporation, which includes energy efficiency as part of its strategic plan. The company’s Environmental Management System defines and tracks global efficiency performance. The plan also includes biennial environmental audits at all manufacturing locations.
