Energy Efficiency Day 2016 - Save Energy. Save Money. #EEDay2016

Energy Efficiency Day 2016 - Save Energy. Save Money.

On October 5, 2016, NEEP will join a network of groups and partners across the country to promote the benefits of energy efficiency, for the first-ever nationwide, Energy Efficiency Day campaign.

The inaugural Energy Efficiency Day is a collaborative effort of regional and national organizations - including NEEP - working to promote energy efficiency. More than 160 government agencies, companies, utilities, cities, and other organizations have now signed on to support #EEDay2016; a full list of supporters (updated frequently) is available here. The 2016 campaign is a social media and press effort to raise awareness among the public and media by organizing participants to share related content, stories and concrete examples of the positive impact of energy efficiency.

CAMPAIGN GOALS:

  • Highlight positive, nonpartisan messaging about energy efficiency;
  • Show the positive impact of energy efficiency across a range of energy users; and
  • Share concrete, effective ways to save energy and money.

Our 2016 goal is for a variety of partner groups to post pro-energy efficiency content on a single day, to reflect the benefits of efficiency to a variety of sectors and audiences. We've developed a variety of sharable content, including social media memes, sample content for web and social sharing, and hashtags for unified messaging. Our goal is to build a foundation for more robust participation in 2017 and beyond, when we plan to issue even more concrete challenges to consumers, businesses and other energy users.
