Senior Manager, Community Solutions
Energy Efficient Buildings

Michael joined NEEP in 2024 as Senior Manager, Community Solutions. In this role, he develops and implements community-level strategies and fosters relationships to advance NEEP's mission of achieving rapid and equitable decarbonization across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Michael serves as the Community Solutions Program Lead, overseeing all program activities, including staff management, project coordination, budget administration, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.

Michael has over 20 years of experience in development, construction, and management at large public facilities and in the multifamily housing sector. Prior to joining NEEP, Michael was an Associate Director of Affordable Housing at Volunteers of America in Colorado. Michael holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, a BA in Integrated Studies from Arizona State University, and a certificate in Agile Project Management from the Management and Strategy Institute. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Nonprofit Professional Leadership at Gonzaga University. 

Q: What is your favorite thing about NEEP?

A: The people! Both my colleagues and the community stakeholders I interact with are amazing.

Q: What's something about you that would surprise people?

A: I am a commissioned minister. In this role, I provide nondenominational, interfaith pastoral counseling to individuals recovering from trauma. I also do weddings.

 

Q: If you could spend one week anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?

A: Thailand for its beautiful beaches, incredible mountains, amazing food, and friendly people.
