Michael joined NEEP as Senior Manager of the Community Solutions team in 2024. In this role, Michael helps develop and implement strategies and build relationships at the community level in order to advance NEEP's mission of rapid and equitable decarbonization in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region. Michael is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Community Solutions team, leading the development of grant reports and budgets, and managing project deliverables. Michael also provides technical assistance and facilitates stakeholder relationships that help communities meet decarbonization goals. 

Michael has over 20 years of experience in development, construction, and management at large public facilities and in the multifamily housing sector. Prior to joining NEEP, Michael was an associate director at Volunteers of America’s affordable housing division in Colorado. Michael has a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, a BA in Integrated Studies with concentrations in business and social science from Arizona State University, and a certificate in Agile Project Management from the Management and Strategy Institute. 

Q: What is your favorite thing about NEEP?

A: The people! Both my colleagues and the community stakeholders I interact with are amazing.

Q: What's something about you that would surprise people?

A: I am a commissioned minister. In this role, I provide nondenominational, interfaith pastoral counseling to individuals recovering from trauma. I also do weddings.

 

Q: If you could spend one week anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?

A: Thailand for its beautiful beaches, incredible mountains, amazing food, and friendly people.
