The Rebate Debate: State Playbooks for Maxing Out IRA Rebates

The states in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic represent varied building stocks, fuel mixes, demographics, grid plans, and more. In this session, representatives from three different states will share how they have designed their IRA, HER, and HEAR programs. Future-Proofing Justice40: Strategizing Today for Success Tomorrow

The Inflation Reduction Act has unleashed a wave of resources for building and housing energy efficiency upgrades. In order to ensure benefits reach disadvantaged communities most impacted by climate change and energy burden, we must investigate the critical intersection of the IRA and Justice40 Initiative. This solutions-oriented session will explore how Northeast states are building innovative, sustainable, long-term strategies for delivering 40 percent of the IRA's building and housing energy benefits to disadvantaged communities, regardless of future federal policies.

Stack, Braid, Upgrade: Leveraging Multiple Funding Sources to Supercharge Programs

Now more than ever we are seeing more potential revenue streams available for energy efficiency and building electrification upgrades. This funding comes from multiple sources with varied rules, eligibility criteria, paperwork, and savings attribution issues. From tax credits to state & utility efficiency programs to clean heat standards and federal programs from EPA, DOE and other agencies, there are many obstacles to leveraging this funding. Effective stacking and braiding strategies are necessary to ensure this influx of funding achieves our critical decarbonization objectives. This session will focus on strategies for stacking these funding opportunities to maximize dollars and braiding program implementation together to lower transactional costs for consumers.
