Southeastern Container, located in Hudson, New Hampshire, is one of nine similar plants that produce and supply plastic bottles to Coca-Cola bottlers.
With the help of Public Service Company of New Hampshire, Southeastern Container (SEC) became one of the first plants in New England to install high efficiency air recovery systems, allowing SEC to produce more bottles while conserving energy.
Other efficiency measures at SEC’s Hudson plant include high efficiency lighting fixtures and controls, industrial ceiling fans installed to re-circulate heat from machines and a recycling program that uses rejected plastic bottles and shipping materials.
As a result, the SEC’s Hudson location is considered to be the company’s most efficient plant. The plant has reduced annual energy consumption by 19 percent and is saving $562,908 in energy costs annually.
