In recent years, smart devices such as Amazon’s Alexa, Google’s Smart Home platform, and the like, have enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity. Smart fridges, televisions, showers, blenders, lights; essentially, anything with a plug or batteries can now be hooked up to your phone or watch for your leisure.

Education is the foundation for progress. We need to build global thinking on the concept of climate change, and build more awareness of its unprecedented threat to our planet. We need to inspire action in defense of environmental protection. At NEEP, we do this every day, most especially around Earth Day.

The US EPA’s ENERGY STAR Program, created in 1992 under the President George H. W. Bush administration, is a star performer in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic energy efficiency success story. NEEP states and efficiency programs – from the District of Columbia to Maine – rely on the ENERGY STAR label to distinguish quality and efficient lighting products, home appliances, consumer electronics, and homes and buildings in order to help meet aggressive energy savings goals, comply with legislative mandates, and reduce carbon emissions.
